BROADCAST EQUIPMENT STOLEN & VANDALIZED

San Diego, California – June 5, 2016
Progressive Radio station KNSJ 89.1 FM has been temporarily knocked off the air after a break-in and theft. KNSJ’s transmitter site on remotely located Monument Peak in the Laguna Mountains, was broken into and intentionally disabled on Thursday, June 2nd at 7:05 p.m. PST. The immediate impact of this crime is the loss of the FM broadcast and service as an emergency alert system. KNSJ continues to stream 24/7. Because this break-in occurred on Federal land and interrupted a licensed FCC full-power FM station, this forced entry is a considered a Federal crime.
